It is equipped with a "Flash" pull cord. Simply hinge open the bottom flap and carefully tug down on the pull cord in a short pull, Stop and carefully allow the cord to retract, as it does so, it will wind the clockwork mechanism in the magazine up, ready for use. close the flap and off you go.
