The Quick Start Guide to Airsoft Guns
The low-down on Airsoft guns (ICS-94 Israeli Airsoft Gun)
There are basically 3 different types of Airsoft guns. These include a spring powered gun where you have to manually cock the weapon before taking a shot, a gas powered gun which makes use of compressed gas to fire the BB pellets, and electric powered guns which often contain an automatic shooting feature so that multiple rounds may be fired.
If you have never seen or handled an Airsoft gun before, then you may be surprised at just how realistic they look and feel.
If you are just entering the world of Airsoft guns, then the best way to get started is to buy yourself a cheaper model to start off with. Your best option is probably a spring powered Airsoft pistol, which are available at very affordable prices.
More experienced users of Airsoft guns usually like to get a bit more serious, and it is not uncommon for them to spend over £300 on one gun. These people tend to engage in Airsoft activities on a regular basis, and often participate in organised games and tournaments.
Before using any Airsoft gun, it is vital that you are aware of the proper safety procedures to ensure you don't end up getting seriously injured.
Firstly, although the BB pellets are plastic, they are extremely dangerous to the human eye because of the speed that they travel at. If you were to get shot in the eyes then the chances are being permanently blinded are extremely high. It is for this reason that you always wear protective eye-wear when shooting Airsoft guns, even if you are just practice shooting.
