Colt MK18 MOD1 Gen.3 Gas Blowback Rifle (by VFC - Black)

Want to buy a realistic-looking black airsoft gun (RIF) from onlyBBguns? Because these guns look so real, UK law (the VCRA Act) requires you to have a valid reason, called a "defence," to own one. Essentially, you need to prove you're buying it for airsoft skirmishing (the sport itself), not for any other purpose.

Here's how you can demonstrate your defence to onlyBBguns and buy a black airsoft gun:

  1. Show proof of skirmishing: Gather evidence like photos and videos from airsoft games you've participated in. These should clearly show you actively involved in skirmishing, demonstrating your intent to use the gun for the sport.
  2. Become a registered skirmisher: The easiest way to prove your defence is by joining a recognized airsoft association and getting a membership card. The most common one in the UK is UKARA. This registration confirms you're a legitimate airsoft player.

Don't have either of those? No problem! You can still buy the airsoft gun. onlyBBguns can paint it in a two-tone colour scheme. This means part of the gun will be sprayed a bright, non-realistic colour. This makes the gun a "non-realistic imitation firearm" and avoids the restrictions of the VCRA Act. Anyone over 18 can legally buy a two-tone airsoft gun

Features

Time to get excited. VFCs ever so reliable V3 GBB system is now put together extremely well within this beautiful Colt MK18 rifle from Cybergun. The MK18 is the CQB length M4 style rifle used by several branches of the US Military Special Forces, including the likes of the Navy Seals and DEVGRU, Green Berets, Delta Force and The Army Rangers, to name a few. It’s been widely adopted around the world being extremely popular with military and civilian markets. Making it ever so popular within the airsoft community both on looks and practicality as it suits a broad spectrum of different loadout styles and is a great intermediate length making it good for both CQB and outdoor gameplay. VFC and Cybergun have done a fantastic job replicating the real firearm in terms of looks, feel and operation. It’s realistic blowback operation will be sure to put a smile on the face of any airsoft player who enjoys the immersion of the GBBR platform, it’s crisp and snappy and consistent. The overall finish is fantastic and the receiver has an almost anodised look and texture to it. The polymer furniture is tough and robust and imitates the real ones very well, though obviously with it being a GBBR, you can swap these out for real surplus furniture if you wish to do so. The hop-up can be adjusted through the vent holes in the handguard, it’s a wheel with serrations that is visible at the base of the barrel by the nut. Though it may be a bit finicky at first, the hop wheel is sturdy and tactile and stays in position once set, it won’t really require any more adjustments once you’ve decided your bb weight.

Two tone
We can two tone any weapon we sell at Bespoke Airsoft. The purpose for two toning is if you do not hold a valid defense under the Violent Crimes Reduction Act (VCRA, 2006) which is to prevent the misuse of Replica Weapons, which applies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The gun will be sprayed 51% in a bright/primary color (we do only blue, green and red currently). The process of two toning currently runs at 2 working days depending on Drying Time, which is effected by Ambient Temperature and Weather. and currently no express delivery is available for this even if you select it at checkout.

FAQs

1.     What is a BB gun used for?  BB guns are mostly used for practice shooting and training. The stronger ones (i.e. Air Rifles) can also control pests or hunt small animals.

2.     Do you need a Licence in the UK for a BB gun? No, you don't need a licence for a BB gun in the UK, but there are rules. The BB Gun needs to be in two colours; one has to be a primary. All our guns are on the website as per default.

3.     Is a BB gun a good weapon?   BB guns, despite sometimes being seen as toys, can be dangerous. They fire pellets at high speeds and can cause serious harm, or even be deadly in some situations.

4.     Can you shoot BB guns in public in the UK without a Firearm license? BB guns in the UK navigate a legal grey area. While certain models, notably low-power 'soft air' types, typically evade classification as section 1 firearms, more potent versions may require a valid firearms certificate to avoid legal repercussions.

5.     Can you shoot a BB gun in your garden? You can use a BB gun in your garden under UK law, but you have to ensure the pellets don't go into your neighbour's yard, plot or land. If they do and you don't have permission, it's against the law.

6.     Which UK law am I breaking if the pellets go into my neighbour's law without permission?  If your BB gun pellets go into your neighbour's yard without permission, you're breaking UK laws. Specifically, the 1968 Firearms Act and possibly the 2003 Anti-Social Behaviour Act, because you may be causing your neighbours trouble or worry.
